Key Responsibilities – Sr. Inventory Accounting Manager

• Lead all inventory accounting processes, including monthly close, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Maintain inventory records, perform variance analysis, and track KPIs/metrics.
• Manage reserves, obsolescence, tooling, and prepaid inventory reconciliations.
• Oversee duty accruals, freight, and in-transit inventory accounting.
• Collaborate with procurement, operations, and warehouse teams to ensure accurate costing.
• Supervise and mentor the Inventory Supervisor and team.
• Identify trends and discrepancies through ledger analysis and data review.
• Support audits and ensure compliance with SOX controls and internal policies.
• Drive process improvements and maintain documentation of key procedures.

Qualifications – Sr. Inventory Accounting Manager

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of inventory accounting experience, preferably in retail or consumer packaged goods (CPG).
• Solid general accounting experience: journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience managing teams or supervising staff preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to review large data sets and identify variances.
• Advanced Excel skills; proficiency with BI/reporting tools a plus (Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft NAV preferred).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate cross-functionally.
