Job Details

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Sr. Interior Designer/Project Manager to join their dynamic team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing both large and small-scale projects, leading interior design teams, and serving as the main point of contact for clients and the design & construction team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the construction industry, particularly in the healthcare sector, and will be adept at managing project milestones, estimating project time needs, and ensuring quality control.

Responsibilities:

  • Project management for both large and small construction projects, ensuring that all milestones are met and deliverables are completed successfully.
  • Serving as the lead interior designer on projects, utilizing creativity and expertise to create stunning and functional designs.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for clients and the design & construction team, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Estimating weekly time needs for projects, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Quality control for all work and final products, including construction documents, RFIs, and submittals.
  • Ownership of projects, including maintaining awareness of design and construction schedules, managing project deadlines, and communicating any changes to company leadership.
  • Providing full-service interior design services for healthcare projects nationally, both for new construction and renovation projects.
  • Mentoring junior interior designers, providing guidance on interior finishes and the principles of construction documentation.
  • Demonstrating high accountability, exceptional organizational skills, and impeccable attention to detail.
  • Ability to complete a high volume of tasks and projects with minimal guidance.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8+ years of experience in interior design and project management within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience leading large and small-scale projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor interior design teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to serve as the primary point of contact for clients and teams.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including the ability to manage project milestones and deliverables.
  • Experience in estimating project time needs and managing project deadlines.
  • Proven ability to provide quality control for team’s work and final products.
  • Experience in providing full-service interior design services, particularly in the healthcare sector.
  • Strong mentorship skills, with the ability to guide junior interior designers.
  • Demonstrated high accountability, exceptional organizational skills, and impeccable attention to detail.
  • Ability to complete a high volume of tasks and projects with minimal guidance.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year interior design program
  • Minimum 8 years of related experience as an interior designer with a background in healthcare interior design is desired
  • NCIDQ certification required
  • CHID certified beneficial
  • EDAC certification is desired
