Sr. Global Benefits Manager

Location: Culver City, CA- 2 days a week onsite
Duration: Temporary 3 months(covering a medical leave; potential to extend)
Pay Rate: $60–$70/hour

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a fast-growing, global technology and entertainment organization to identify a Senior Manager, Global Benefits, to support their Benefits team during a medical leave. This is a high-impact role supporting a workforce of 3,000+ employees globally with the largest populations in the U.S. and Spain and continued expansion across APAC, Japan, and the UK.

This role requires deep global benefits expertise, strong change management skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, including post-acquisition integration. The ideal candidate is hands-on, collaborative, and comfortable navigating complexity without ego.

Key Responsibilities

Global Benefits Strategy & Execution

  • Lead and support global benefits programs across the U.S., Canada, EMEA, APAC, India, and additional international locations
  • Ensure benefits offerings are competitive, compliant, and aligned with local market practices
  • Oversee plan design and administration for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, STD/LTD, retirement plans, HSAs/FSAs, and wellness programs

Vendor & Program Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for global benefits vendors and brokers
  • Evaluate vendor performance, manage renewals, and ensure service delivery excellence
  • Lead Open Enrollment end-to-end, including planning, communications, leadership alignment, and execution

Leave of Absence & Compliance

  • Manage U.S. Leaves of Absence (FMLA, PFL, state-specific programs) and ensure coordination with insurance plans
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. federal/state regulations and applicable global benefits laws
  • Support return-to-work strategies for employees coming back from extended leaves

Systems, Reporting & Financial Oversight

  • Own benefits administration within Workday 
  • Partner with internal teams to reconcile benefits billing, review utilization data, and provide cost analysis
  • Manage benefits budgets and support decision-making around fully insured vs. self-insured plans

Leadership, Change & Collaboration

  • Act as a senior individual contributor and people manager (minimum 3+ years management experience required)
  • Partner closely with global counterparts across regions, including EMEA leadership
  • Support change management initiatives tied to acquisitions and organizational growth
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Payroll, Finance, Facilities, and external partners

Qualifications (Must Have)

  • 8+ years of global benefits experience, supporting employees across multiple countries
  • Hands-on Workday experience (required)
  • 3+ years of people management experience
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. benefits and LOA programs, plus international benefits exposure
  • Proven experience managing benefits vendors and complex global programs
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Comfortable operating in a high-velocity, change-heavy environment
