Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group has partnered with a growing industrial company to hire a Senior General Ledger Accountant.  As the Sr General Ledger Accountant, you will join a dynamic US finance team. This role is a critical pillar in managing the general ledger and month-end close while supporting an ERP transformation. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance along with 5-7 years of related accounting experience, proficiency in MS Excel and experience working in an ERP system.  If you’re seeking your next opportunity, apply now!



Responsibilities:
  • Execute month-end and year-end close activities in accordance with US GAAP; perform reconciliations and ensure rigorous balance sheet integrity.
  • Take ownership of sales tax reporting and filings in coordination with external advisors while ensuring audit readiness.
  • Perform variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget/Forecast) and prepare monthly analytical reports to support executive decision-making.
  • Act as a key contributor to ongoing ERP improvements (Microsoft Dynamics), including testing, data validation, and process documentation.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to monitor budget adherence, flag financial risks, and validate forecasting inputs.


Qualifications/Background Profile:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of relevant US accounting experience with a strong grasp of US GAAP.
  • Proven expertise in month-end close and balance sheet ownership;
  • Proficiency in Excel is required with Power BI experience is a plus
  • Experience working in an ERP system (Dynamics/Navision experience is a plus).
