Job Details
We are seeking an experienced MEP Estimator to join our team supporting our Minnesota operations. This role is a backfill for a retiring team member and offers the opportunity for cross-training and knowledge transfer. You will focus on pure estimating within commercial mechanical systems, working across sheet metal, piping, and plumbing scopes.
This individual will play a key role in both executing estimates and mentoring junior team members, helping elevate the overall estimating function. You will report directly to the Chief Estimator and collaborate across offices on a variety of project types.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial MEP projects (sheet metal, piping, plumbing)
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate budgets
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support bid strategy
- Participate in multi-office estimating efforts as needed
- Mentor and support junior estimators
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of pure estimating experience within commercial MEP environments
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems (sheet metal, piping, plumbing)
- Experience working on projects ranging from several million to $100M
- Background in a commercial mechanical contractor environment (preferred over GC estimating)
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and offices
- Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset
