Team Overview:

As a Sr Director of Transformational Partnerships (Sr DTP), you are a vital part of the Development Team. In this role, you report to the VP of Transformational Partnerships and are charged with cultivating relationships with major ministry friends (MnFs), leading a small team of development professionals, representing and promoting ADF, and increasing the revenue of contributing major ministry friends.

Key Responsibilities:

Fund-raising – 80% of core responsibilities

• Increase year-over-year revenue from the assigned MnFs consistent with the objectives that cascade from the Development team objectives. This will be accomplished in part by specific "ASKS" related to the MnF's passion areas of interest with an emphasis on building personal relationships with MnFs who give annually $10,000 and above.
• Increase giving from Ministry friends' portfolios year over year.
• Increase year-over-year revenue from your assigned MnFs by qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding the relationships.
• Establish a reliable pipeline of funding from assigned MnFs with the goal of multi-year commitments.
• Thorough follow-through with all internal prospects who have given to ADF and who we believe have potential to be Major MnFs, and those who have not yet given to ADF but have high capacity and have been vetted to ensure they have a passion for the ministry of ADF.
• Participate in fulfilling all annual ADF Matching gifts, record all MnF contacts in Reliance (CRM) in a timely manner, make thank you calls to Ministry Friends in a timely manner, utilize all current information, forms, reports, and more.
• Successfully aligning partner interests with ADF's strategy.
• Collaborating with the Foundation Partnership team in the development of compelling proposals and the development of creative presentations and reports.
• Identify complex giving opportunities (tax -advantaged tools) and utilize the prescribed referral process for documenting such opportunities.
• Ensure Ministry Friends know about our Legacy giving community while inviting them to join ADF in the long game by making a gift in their will or trust

Team Management – 20% of core responsibilities

• Manage, lead, and develop a team of at least two major gift officers with the skills and experience necessary to reach revenue goals. Lead team development of multi-year MnF engagement plans aligned with the ADF strategic vision.
• Ensure direct report accountability to the defined team metrics and KPIs defined by the Development Leadership Team.
• Onboard and train new direct reports to ensure quality MnF relationships are acquired, nurtured and engaged in order to meet or exceed annual revenue goals.
• Partner with the VP of Transformational Partnerships in the development and implementation of the Transformational Partnerships multi-year strategic plan, the development and execution of team skills & capability building efforts and participate in the professional encouragement and mentoring of junior team members.

Other Responsibilities (Non-Essential):

• You will be asked to perform related duties or special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• 5+ years of fundraising experience is required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Successful experience closing five and six-figure gifts.
• Demonstrated experience building and leading a team of development officer
