This high-profile role requires an exceptional legal professional with the ability to think proactively, manage multiple priorities, and anticipate the needs of a fast-moving executive within a dynamic litigation practice. This is more than a paralegal role—it’s an opportunity to be part of the Executive Team acting as the right hand to the Managing Partner and playing a key role in high-stakes litigation matters.

 Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and manage the Managing Partner’s email communications in real-time throughout the day.
  • Provide litigation support, including document management, trial preparation, and eFiling.
  • Attend hearings, mediations, depositions, and travel for out-of-town litigation as required.
  • Prepare Zoom meetings, coordinate phone conferences, and manage the Partner’s daily briefing materials.
  • Engage professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and internal departments.
  • Entertain and attend to clients during delays or while the Partner is in meetings.
  • Handle critical communications and manage urgent requests swiftly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate closely with the Managing Partner’s Legal Secretary and broader litigation teams.
  • Assist with client intake and maintain the Managing Partner’s priority phone list.
  • Share documents and presentations via laptop-to-screen in courtroom settings.
  • Work overtime as needed, including evenings and occasional overnight travel.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years of litigation experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred; equivalent work experience strongly considered.
  • Mastery of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and due date calculations.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, multitasking, and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word; familiarity with Excel and PowerPoint a plus.
  • Software experience should include:
  • Hummingbird eDocs.
  • ProDocs eFiling.
  • PACER.
  • Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • eDiscovery platforms.
  • Secretary of State site and general internet research.
  • Professional demeanor with strict adherence to the Firm Dress Code (no visible tattoos or piercings).
  • Strong technical and keyboarding skills; comfortable with in-court tech setups.

Ideal Candidate Attributes:
  • Proactive mindset and the ability to stay two steps ahead of the Managing Partner.
  • High adaptability to drive in a fast-paced, high-pressure legal environment.
  • Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Comfortable with variable hours and unstructured overtime.
  • Collaborative team player who enjoys working cross-functionally with departments across the firm.
