Key Responsibilities:

- Provide litigation support, including document management, trial preparation, and eFiling.
- Attend hearings, mediations, depositions, and travel for out-of-town litigation as required.
- Prepare Zoom meetings, coordinate phone conferences, and manage the Partner’s daily briefing materials.
- Engage professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and internal departments.
- Entertain and attend to clients during delays or while the Partner is in meetings.
- Handle critical communications and manage urgent requests swiftly and efficiently.
- Collaborate closely with the Managing Partner’s Legal Secretary and broader litigation teams.
- Assist with client intake and maintain the Managing Partner’s priority phone list.
- Share documents and presentations via laptop-to-screen in courtroom settings.
- Work overtime as needed, including evenings and occasional overnight travel.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of litigation experience required.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred; equivalent work experience strongly considered.
- Mastery of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and due date calculations.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, multitasking, and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word; familiarity with Excel and PowerPoint a plus.
- Software experience should include:
- Hummingbird eDocs.
- ProDocs eFiling.
- PACER.
- Westlaw or LexisNexis.
- eDiscovery platforms.
- Secretary of State site and general internet research.
- Professional demeanor with strict adherence to the Firm Dress Code (no visible tattoos or piercings).
- Strong technical and keyboarding skills; comfortable with in-court tech setups.
Ideal Candidate Attributes:
- Proactive mindset and the ability to stay two steps ahead of the Managing Partner.
- High adaptability to drive in a fast-paced, high-pressure legal environment.
- Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality.
- Comfortable with variable hours and unstructured overtime.
- Collaborative team player who enjoys working cross-functionally with departments across the firm.
