Sparks Group has partnered with a renowned government transportation contractor to seek a highly skilled and results-oriented Senior Accounts Receivable Accountant. This role involves a comprehensive range of responsibilities, related to providing extensive research identified through/on AR accounts reconciliations to resolve outstanding issues. Key Responsibilities
- Research and resolve complex Accounts Receivable (AR) reconciliation issues, including credits and unapplied cash.
- Analyze customer account activity to determine proper account disposition and resolution.
- Review AR aging reports and support reserve and bad debt analysis.
- Prepare and submit monthly journal entries and support funds management–related billing.
- Monitor AR inquiries and billing workflows, including dunning exceptions and backup support for billing.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting or AR experience, including at least 2 years at a senior analyst, accounting, or audit level.
- Experience supporting AR, reconciliations, and financial reporting in public sector, financial services, real estate, or similar environments.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- CPA, CGFM, CMA, or CIA certification preferred.
