Sparks Group has partnered with a renowned government transportation contractor to seek a highly skilled and results-oriented Senior Accounts Payables Accountant. This role involves a comprehensive range of responsibilities, strong understanding of invoice processing, AP reconciliations, period-of-performance accounting, proven experience performing Accounts Payable and vendor master data accounting functions. Key Responsibilities

  • Review, validate, and process vendor invoices to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely payment.
  • Determine and document periods of performance for services and accurately record voucher details.
  • Reconcile and maintain Accounts Payable ledgers and subledgers, including reclassifications as needed.
  • Manage vendor master data, including onboarding, validation, updates, and ongoing data cleansing.
  • Partner with Procurement, Accounting, and Audit teams to resolve data issues, support audits, and participate in system and master data initiatives.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting or AR experience, including at least 2 years at a senior analyst, accounting, or audit level.
  • Experience supporting AR, reconciliations, and financial reporting in public sector, financial services, real estate, or similar environments.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • CPA, CGFM, CMA, or CIA certification preferred.
