As a Permanent Sr. Accountant, you will be an integral part of our dynamic and fast-paced Accounting + Finance team. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact within a growing company in the oil and gas industry. This role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, from monthly reporting and financial analysis to strategic planning and decision-making support. You will be working closely with other members of the accounting team, as well as with various other departments within the company. If you are a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for accounting, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management, aiding in strategic decision-making.
- Coordinate with external auditors, providing necessary information and documentation for annual audits.
- Participate in the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing detailed financial projections.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions in the general ledger.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting department.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and changes in accounting standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments, providing financial guidance and support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
- Prior experience in a public accounting firm, Big 4 is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with financial reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills. Experience with accounting software and systems is preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial personnel.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical practices.
