Title: SQL SERVER DBA
Locations: Newark, NJ
Duration: 6 Months
Pay Range: $55 - $60/Hour on W2 (All inclusive) - Applicant must be willing to work on W2
Key Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain new and existing applications in preparation for a large-scale
architectural migration within an Agile function.
• Align with the Product Owner and Scrum Master in assessing business needs and
transforming them into scalable applications.
• Design, implement, and maintain database systems, primarily with SQL Server
• Performance database performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing, and
partitioning
• Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve issues
• Coordinate database operations, such as upgrades and migrations
• Provide technical support to application developers and end users
Your Required Skills:
• 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server database administrator
• Strong understanding of database administration principles and best practices
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly and offer
alternatives both independently and within teams.
• Exposure working in an Agile environment with Scrum Master/Product owner and ability to deliver
• Ability to communicate the status and challenges with the team
• Demonstrating the ability to learn new skills and work as a team
Your Desired Skills:
• Experience with scripting languages (such as Python)
• Working experience in a Linux based environment
• Experience with Azure Cloud services, especially Blob Storage and Fabric related services
• Direct experience supporting multiple business units for foundational data work and sound understanding of capital markets within Fixed Income
• Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, SAFe development methodology & DevOps
• Proven ability to work quickly in a dynamic environment.
• Bachelor's degree Computer Science or a related field.
