About: USRowing is a nonprofit organization recognized by the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee as the national governing body for the sport of rowing in the United States. The organization’s mission is to steward, strengthen, and grow American rowing by championing performance and igniting new passion for the sport.
USRowing selects, trains, and manages the teams that represent the U.S. in international competition. The organization serves multiple constituencies including novice learn-to-rowers, parentsofrowers,mastersrowers,adaptiverowers,collegiaterowers,indoorrowersand,most recently, coastal rowers.

Job Summary: USRowing's Sport Broadcasters are responsible for cultivating an entertaining,engaging, and educational broadcast by providing in-depth coverage and analysis of the races, athletes, teams, and clubs. Broadcasters will utilize their passion and knowledge of rowing to analyze race lineups, conduct interviews, and highlight key storylines that emphasize the significance of the race, event, or sport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Haveastrongpassionforsportsbroadcastingwiththeabilitytoinspireothersthrough event commentary.
- Jointly lead the broadcast for the entirety of the regatta livestream, providing color commentary, analysis of statistics, and other important information regarding the rowing events as they unfold.
- Interview athletes, teams, coaches, and other guests about their achievements, experiences, and knowledge of rowing.
- Researchracestrategiesandpastathleteperformancesto assistintheanalysisofupcoming races.
- Readscriptsforcommercials,organizationalannouncements,andpromotionalmaterials.
- Provide accurate, insightful, and engaging coverage of the event for the livestream audience.
- Assistinthecreationofinspirationalpromotionalvideosleadinguptotheregattatoassist in building anticipation and excitement for the event.
- Follow the USRowing Code of Conductat all times in preparation and at the USRowing event.
- Be aware of the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention policies (MAAPP Aware) and how to report violations of misconduct. All reports of Sexual Misconduct must be reported directly to the
- U.S. Center for SafeSport at www.uscenterforsafesport.orgor (833)-587-7233. Other violations of misconduct may be reported to USRowing here.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in broadcasting, including announcing, commentating, anchoring, radio, podcasting, or related fields.
- Possess a comprehensive knowledge of rowing, including a general understanding of USRowing Rules of Rowing, or demonstrate extensive expertise in sports broadcasting.
- Ability to work well and collaborate with USRowing staff and broadcasters.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to enunciate and project voice efficiently.
- Demonstrate professional etiquette during onsite interviews of participants and special guests.
- Possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
Compensation:$250perday
- USRowing will provide agreed upon travel and lodging accommodations to all broadcasters for National Championship events. For Regional Championship events, lodging will be provided for the duration of the event. USRowing will reimburse broadcasters for mileage in accordance with the 2026 IRS standard mileage rate. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to broadcasters on-site each day of competition.
