Seeking 2 people to be hired as Publication Courses Instructional Support staff who will work with the Publication Center Director and faculty teaching ENGL 1830 Literary Magazine Studies class (Fall semesters) & ENGL 1820 Publication Studies class (Spring semesters) to create meaningful opportunities for SLCC students including helping with book-making workshops, producing publications, and other related duties. Below is a description of the specific duties and desired qualifications. Staff will also help with other Publication Center duties.
## Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities
 
- Assist Publication Center Director with various activities through the academic year (summer work available) 
- Assist ENGL 1830, Literary Magazine Studies, course instructor with guiding students to create Folio: SLCC's Literary & Art Magazine 
- Assist ENGL 1820, Publication Studies, course instructor with chapbook design and production and other Publication Studies projects 
- Help facilitate digital editorial processes.
- Report to course faculty weekly 
- Attend all class meetings and participate in class activities and discussions 
- Attend the Folio and Publication Center Advisory Board meetings 
- Maintain Folio and Publication Center Websites 
- Manage social media (post announcements & event information, etc.) 
- Work 15-20 hours a week
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College
- Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities
