Special Education Teacher

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Indianapolis, IN. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, helping them achieve their academic and social goals in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
• Adapt general education curriculum to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student success.
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student growth and development.
• Provide direct instruction in academic, social, and life skills to students with disabilities.
• Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with all state and federal regulations related to special education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid Indiana teaching license with special education endorsement.
• Experience working with students with disabilities in a classroom setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and families.
• Patience, creativity, and a passion for helping students succeed.
