Serving pre-kindergarten through 5th grade, Donoghue is the second public elementary campus of the University of Chicago Charter School Corporation. Donoghue, which opened in 2005, is a college preparatory campus committed to professional development, inquiry, and high expectations for all staff and students. Donoghue serves as a catalyst for community building by offering programs for students and families beyond the school day.

Position Summary:

Full-time salaried Special Education teaching position responsible for preparing students, regardless of tested ability, for success in college. This position will analyze and use formative assessment data to improve instruction, design curriculum and assessments using the learning standards of the University of Chicago Charter School, participate in professional development activities; and enable students to contribute to the community through the creation of new knowledge.

Position Qualifications:

Applicant should have a Bachelor’s degree in education and IL state licensure with LBS I endorsement; at least 2 years of urban teaching experience; and proven commitment to curriculum and assessment planning and professional development. Applicant will be an excellent teacher of students, reflective and receptive to professional feedback and coaching, and possess strong written and oral communication skills.

Pay Range: $67,300.00 – $87,100.00

The included pay rate or range represents the University of Chicago Charter School's good faith estimate of the possible compensation offer for this role at the time of posting. The salary will be commensurate of years of experience and education.
