Key Responsibilities & Duties:
• Provide simultaneous interpretation during meetings, training sessions, and disciplinary discussions.
• Translate written documents, including plant production materials, company policies, work instructions, and reports from Spanish to English and vice versa.
• Perform sight translations (reading documents silently and delivering an accurate spoken translation).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure clear communication of operational procedures and updates.
• Support management with administrative tasks related to translation and interpretation services.
• Prepare and maintain charts, graphs, reports, and presentations as required.
• Provide translation support on the plant floor, including interpreting work instructions and assisting with online training programs.
• Work closely with plant personnel and departments to ensure that translated materials meet the needs of all stakeholders.
• Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all communication and translation activities.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 1 year of professional translation experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in interpretation / translation, language, or related field.
• Proficiency in both Spanish and English, with excellent oral and written communication skills in both languages.
• Must be willing to work a split shift when required (possibly 11:00am-8:00pm)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in translating technical, safety, and operational materials.
• Excellent attention to detail, especially when translating complex or technical information.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information.
• Flexibility to work across different shifts as needed to meet business requirements.
• Must be willing to perform translation duties on the plant floor (i.e.: translating for new hires with the Orientation process) in addition in translation in office setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in the manufacturing industry or similar field.
• Certification in translation or interpretation is a plus.
• Knowledge of automotive industry terminology is highly desirable.
