Wage/Salary Range: 115,000 – 145,000

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Comfortable working with a distributed remote team and collaborating primarily online.
  • Design end-to-end solution architectures for optimization, ML, and AI-driven systems.
  • Report on status of systems and projects on a regular and timely basis.
  • Reviews processes and procedures for software quality and data accuracy.
  • Improve model performance, scalability, and robustness through experimentation and tuning
  • Develop and guide the implementation of Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) and other mathematical optimization models for complex decision-making problems.
  • Architect AI and ML solutions, including model lifecycle management, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Translate business requirements into mathematical models, algorithms, and scalable system architectures.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, explainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate solvers, frameworks, and platforms (commercial and open-source).
  • Lead technical design reviews, proof-of-concepts, and solution governance activities.
  • Promote best practices for model performance, robustness, and responsible AI.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

  • Education Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Level of Experience Requirements: 4-7 years of proven experience as a Solutions Architect, Optimization Architect, or Advanced Analytics Lead.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a National Agency Check with Inquiries and/or National Security Clearance; requires US Citizenship

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Familiar with secure coding standards and processes, including OWASP, code scans, and other processes.
  • Familiar with ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats)

• Strong hands-on experience with Mixed Integer Programming (MIP), including:

• Model formulation and validation

• Constraint modeling and objective functions

• Solver performance tuning

  • Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms and model evaluation techniques
  • Solid experience with Machine Learning and AI, including:

• Supervised and unsupervised learning

• Model training, evaluation, and deployment

• Integration of ML models into production systems

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Experience with optimization solvers and frameworks (e.g., Gurobi, CPLEX, SCIP, OR-Tools, Pyomo).
  • Strong understanding of cloud and distributed architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
