LOCATION: Oldsmar, FL
PAY RATE: $26/hour

Summary: 

  • Perform manual and/or selective soldering of through-hole, SMT, BGA, QFN, CSP, and other component types.

  • Conduct visual inspections using microscopes and AOI to identify defects such as bridges, cold joints, tombstoning, insufficient wetting, and voids.

  • Apply IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, and IPC-2221/2222 standards throughout the assembly process.

  • Verify solder paste, flux, and related materials meet specifications.

  • Recommend and support improvements to soldering processes, tooling, and work instructions.

  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials and PPE use.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED; technical/vocational training in electronics assembly preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on solder assembly experience in a production environment.

  • IPC-A-610 , 1–2 years

  • IPC J-STD, 1–2 years

  • Soldering, 1–2 years

  • Proficient with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, etc.).

  • Ability to solder and inspect a wide range of component sizes (0201–1206, BGAs, QFNs, etc.).

  • Familiarity with soldering tools (soldering iron, hot air gun, reflow oven, wave solder).

  • Strong visual inspection skills; experienced with microscopes and AOI equipment.

  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and communication skills; collaborative team player.

  • Experience with mixed-technology boards (SMT and through-hole).

  • Knowledge of lead-free and RoHS-compliant processes.

  • Familiarity with SPC and yield analysis.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lb (e.g., PCB boxes, tooling).

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
