Pay Rate: $79.00 to $84.00 per hr.
We are seeking a Level 4 Engineer with 7+ years of experience who is both hands-on with Java/Python development and able to drive enterprise-wide adoption, collaboration, and technical leadership. This role blends coding responsibilities with mentorship, architectural input, and engagement with business/architecture leads. Our client is building an enterprise API Governance framework to validate and enforce API contracts and specifications across the organization. The framework is developed with Java APIs, Python utilities, GitHub Actions, OpenShift/Kubernetes, and MuleSoft (or other API catalogs).
Responsibilities
- Contribute hands-on to Java/Python development of the governance solution.
- Partner with architects and line-of-business leads to roll out and socialize the framework.
- Mentor and support Level 3 engineers, ensuring high-quality delivery.
- Participate in architectural decision-making and define technical approaches.
- Guide adoption of governance rules and standards across teams.
- Deploy and troubleshoot APIs in OpenShift/Kubernetes environments.
- Use Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar logging tools for debugging and monitoring.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong expertise in either Java or Python, with hands-on experience in the other.
- Experience with Git/GitHub Actions or other CI/CD tools.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with ability to mentor and influence.
- Familiarity with enterprise logging/monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, Kibana, etc.).
- Experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift deployments.
- Familiarity with MuleSoft (preferred), or other API management/catalog platforms such as Apigee or SwaggerHub.
- Exposure to Harness pipelines or similar deployment automation frameworks.
- Background in API lifecycle management, governance, or enterprise integration.
