Software Developer 2 (AI Agent Engineer)

Location: Austin, TX
Duration: 4 Months (Possible Extension)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled AI Agent Engineer to design, develop, and deploy AI-driven solutions, including autonomous agent workflows and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems. This role focuses on enhancing productivity, automating processes, and enabling intelligent decision-making while ensuring governance, security, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, and manage software applications
• Build and deploy production-grade autonomous AI agents
• Design and implement RAG architectures using vector databases
• Develop and optimize multi-agent workflows and agentic systems
• Integrate LLMs via APIs (OpenAI, Hugging Face, Azure AI)
• Implement Model Context Protocol (MCP) for secure data access
• Ensure AI governance, model lifecycle management, and evaluation
• Apply AI safety measures including guardrails, content filtering, and risk controls
• Collaborate with developers, UX designers, and business/system analysts
• Optimize LLM performance, cost, and token usage

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering or advanced data science
• Proven experience building and deploying autonomous AI agents in production
• Strong expertise in context engineering
• Hands-on experience with frameworks such as:
  • LangChain
  • LangGraph
  • CrewAI
  • AutoGPT
• Experience implementing RAG systems with vector databases
• Strong proficiency in Python and AI/ML libraries (OpenAI, Hugging Face, Azure AI)
• Experience integrating LLMs via APIs
• Knowledge of:
  • AI governance
  • Model lifecycle management
  • Evaluation frameworks
• Experience implementing/extending Model Context Protocol (MCP)
• Experience with AI guardrails and safety controls
• Understanding of data privacy (PII/PHI handling)

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years experience building multi-agent systems
• Experience optimizing LLM cost, token usage, and performance
• Familiarity with enterprise AI deployment and scalability
