Proven experience working with children in clinical or community care settings, including home & community care environments.
Strong background in behavioral health, mental health counseling, addiction counseling, or social work with a focus on pediatric populations.
Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation practices, and electronic health record systems such as HIPAA-compliant platforms.
Demonstrated expertise in applied behavior analysis (ABA), crisis management, motivational interviewing, and conflict resolution techniques.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD, or other special needs populations.
Knowledge of special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
Ability to perform patient care activities including intake procedures, behavioral assessments, data collection for progress tracking, and treatment adjustments based on diagnostic evaluation findings. - Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to understand each child's unique needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
Deliver individual and group therapy sessions utilizing modalities such as behavioral therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), art therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
Implement therapeutic activities designed to enhance social skills, manage gender issues, address trauma (including PTSD), and support children with autism or developmental disabilities.
Collect and document medical records, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
Engage in crisis intervention and conflict management to ensure safety and stability during sessions or emergencies.
Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, and multidisciplinary teams for case management and coordinated care planning.
Facilitate intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine appropriate therapeutic strategies.
