Location: Remote, USA
Type: Long-term Contractor
Focus: 70% Snowflake / SQL, 30% Informatica IICS
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior-level, hands-on Snowflake Engineer with deep expertise in SQL engineering, dimensional modeling, and enterprise-scale data transformation. This contractor will design and deliver analytics-ready data models within Snowflake, enabling finance, operations, and enterprise reporting use cases.
This role prioritizes Snowflake data modeling, SQL performance optimization, and scalable platform design over heavy ETL tool development. Experience integrating Oracle Fusion Analytics data and operating within CI/CD-enabled data environments is required.
The ideal candidate operates independently, delivers production-grade assets, and brings architectural discipline to Snowflake environments.
Core Responsibilities
Snowflake Data Modeling and Architecture
- Design and implement scalable Snowflake data models for analytics and reporting
- Build dimensional, star schema, and analytics-optimized models
- Translate business requirements into structured, semantic-ready datasets
- Define modeling standards, naming conventions, and reusable design patterns
- Optimize schemas for BI and downstream consumption
SQL Engineering and Performance Optimization
- Develop high-performance SQL transformations for large-scale datasets
- Implement set-based transformation logic for incremental and batch processing
- Design reconciliation frameworks for financial and operational reporting
- Tune queries, clustering strategies, and warehouse performance
- Develop Snowflake stored procedures using SQL and Python where appropriate
Snowflake Platform Engineering
- Manage Snowflake databases, schemas, warehouses, and resource monitors
- Implement RBAC, data masking, and secure access strategies
- Optimize cost and performance through workload management and warehouse sizing
- Support Dev, QA, and Prod environment strategies
Data Integration and ETL/ELT Support
- Design and support ingestion pipelines delivering enterprise data into Snowflake
- Integrate Oracle Fusion Analytics data into Snowflake environments
- Build and maintain Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services mapping tasks and taskflows
- Configure and maintain Secure Agent connectivity across cloud and on-prem systems
- Develop transformation logic including joins, aggregations, lookups, routers, and expressions
- Monitor job execution, troubleshoot failures, and optimize performance
CI/CD and Automation
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake SQL objects and database changes
- Use GitHub for version control, code reviews, and structured deployments
- Automate deployment of Snowflake objects using scripting, including PowerShell
- Develop reusable SQL frameworks for validation and reconciliation
Platform Operations and Support
- Monitor Snowflake workloads and data pipelines
- Conduct root cause analysis and production support
- Document data models and transformation logic
- Improve reliability, performance, and data quality standards
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of Data Engineering or Data Warehousing experience
- 4+ years of hands-on Snowflake implementation experience
- Deep SQL expertise for large-scale transformations
- Strong dimensional modeling and analytics data architecture background
- Snowflake performance tuning and warehouse management expertise
- CI/CD implementation experience for database or data platform deployments
- GitHub version control and release management experience
- 2+ years of Informatica IICS experience, including mapping tasks, taskflows, and Secure Agent
- Experience building and maintaining ETL or ELT pipelines
- Strong understanding of financial and operational reporting structures
- Python or object-oriented scripting experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle Fusion application data familiarity, including Financials or SCM
- Informatica PowerCenter experience
- Experience with semantic modeling for BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Exposure to AWS or Azure cloud data ecosystems
- Knowledge of governance, lineage, auditing, and monitoring frameworks
- Experience with advanced IICS capabilities such as mass ingestion or API integrations
Ideal Candidate Profile
- This contractor demonstrates strong architectural thinking while remaining deeply technical
- You take ownership of deliverables, operate with autonomy, and bring rigor to Snowflake design and SQL engineering practices
- You prioritize performance, reliability, and maintainability in every build
- You are comfortable partnering with finance, analytics, and engineering stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable data solutions
