SMT Line Operator

SMT Machine Operator 

Fridley, MN | Contract to Hire | $19 - $22/hour plus a shift differential

6:30 am - 3:00 pm

As an SMT Line Operator, the primary responsibility is to manufacture high-quality products while adhering to the company's values and production schedule. This role involves operating Surface Mount Technology assembly equipment and peripheral machinery under general supervision.

SMT Operator Responsibilities:

• Set up pick and place machines for optimal runtime and precision.
• Operate Genesis and Fuzion Universal Surface Mount Technology Lines, and configure the Juki printer.
• Visually inspect assemblies to ensure solder quality, accurate component placement, and detect any missing parts or errors.
• Maintain a continuous presence on the production line and monitor its performance.
• Uphold productive workflow, meet quality standards, and resolve any production-related issues efficiently.

SMT Operator Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years of relevant experience.
2. Strong attention to detail.
3. Ability to comprehend basic work instructions.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience in soldering, including Surface Mount Technology and through-hole.
2. Familiarity with AOI Equipment (Automated Optical Inspection).
3. Previous experience operating Pick and Place machines or similar equipment.
4. Background in working with electronic components, particularly surface mount.
5. Knowledge of IPC J-STD and IPC-A-610 standards.
