Position Summary
The Shop Manager serves in a multi-role leadership position supporting EverGreen Family of Trade Services as a second-chance employer and workforce development partner. This role is critical to advancing participants through a structured workforce pathway, supporting reintegration, safety, and long-term employment success consistent with the Tradesmen Academy reintegration model.
From Support to Skills to Employment
Through HAMIC Support Services, individuals receive holistic, nonprofit-led support focused on housing stability, reentry navigation, and life stabilization. Once clients are ready to pursue employment, they are referred to Tradesmen Academy, HAMIC’s workforce development and training pathway designed to bridge the gap between support services and sustainable work.
Tradesmen Academy provides participants with structured employment readiness services, including:
- Digital literacy and computer training (email, Google Drive, online applications, workplace tools)
- Soft skills development, such as communication, teamwork, time management, and professionalism
- On-the-job training through supervised, real-world work experiences
- Work readiness and safety preparation, including completion of Got Safety programming and other required job-site safety certifications
The Academy uses a hands-on, supportive approach to help participants build confidence, reliability, and practical skills while earning recent work experience and employer references. Training is paced to meet individuals where they are, with clear expectations and opportunities to progress.
Once participants demonstrate readiness—through consistent participation, completion of safety requirements, and skill development—they may be referred for employment opportunities with Evergreen Family of Trade Services, a second-chance employer partner. Evergreen provides paid work experience across facilities maintenance, yard care, hauling, drywall, and related trades, offering a clear pathway from training to employment.
Together, HAMIC Support Services, Tradesmen Academy, and Evergreen Family of Trade Services create a coordinated continuum, from stabilization and support to skills development, to real employment—designed to promote long-term independence, workforce success, and community reintegration.
