Summary
The Shipping Planner plays a critical role in supporting the Shipping (Deputy) Manager in overseeing all shipping and export activities across the Supply Chain Management Division II. This role ensures the timely, accurate, and cost-effective execution of all shipments—including onsite/offsite orders, subcontractor material supply, drop-shipments, vendor-managed inventory movements, and RMA material flows. The Shipping Planner ensures all operations comply with internal SOX controls and international trade regulations, while maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and strong cross-departmental communication.
Job Duties
Support the Shipping (Deputy) Manager in departmental training and daily operational oversight.
Plan, schedule, and execute all types of shipments, including orders, non-orders, repairs/maintenance, RMA, samples, and subcontractor consignments.
Create and verify shipping documentation, including waybills, labels, packing slips, and commercial invoices.
Perform export EEI filing in the ACE system per export regulations.
Coordinate subcontractor material supply and drop-shipment handling, ensuring data accuracy in SAP.
Manage company drop-shipments from multiple vendors, ensuring proof of delivery collection and compliance records.
Monitor and reconcile vendor managed inventory (VMI/VOI) hubs' movements; update SAP records timely and accurately.
Troubleshoot and resolve shipping exceptions, off-site delivery discrepancies, and material flow issues.
Coordinate and schedule vendor-managed inventory material movements, ensuring on-time delivery and cost effectiveness.
Support RMA material flows and ensure compliance with internal control standards.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth, compliant operations.
Maintain accurate and organized shipping records for audit and compliance purposes.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Shipping (Deputy) Manager.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field preferred.
1–3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or supply chain operations is a plus.
Hands-on experience with SAP and export filing systems (ACE).
Knowledge of export compliance, SOX internal controls, and international shipping practices.
Strong attention to detail, accountability, and ability to maintain accurate records.
Strong knowledge of SAP and shipping/export systems (ACE filing).
Ability to troubleshoot shipment issues and resolve discrepancies and quickly.
Excellent organizational skills to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments and clients.
Ability to manage multiple shipment types simultaneously under pressure.
Familiarity with international trade regulations and SOX compliance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Multilingual (English & Chinese) is a plus.

This position is full-time and on-site at our Sugar Land, Texas, headquarters in Houston.
