Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and supervise a team of sheet metal workers in the installation, assembly, and repair of HVAC systems in commercial and industrial settings.
2. Interpret and implement construction plans and blueprints, ensuring all work adheres to specifications and building codes.
3. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
4. Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork.
5. Perform hands-on sheet metal work, including cutting, bending, and fabricating, as necessary.
6. Oversee the installation and maintenance of heating, cooling, chillers, and boilers systems.
7. Conduct regular inspections to guarantee the functionality and efficiency of HVAC systems.
8. Manage resources and materials effectively, ensuring minimal waste and maximizing productivity.
9. Address any issues or delays in the project promptly, implementing corrective actions as needed.
10. Uphold and enforce strict safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe and clean worksite.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Sheet Metal Foreman or similar role in the construction industry.
2. Proven experience in commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, heating, and cooling.
3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
4. Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of training and mentoring staff.
5. Strong knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in the construction industry.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
7. Proficient in the use of power tools and hand tools related to sheet metal work.
8. Good physical condition and stamina to handle heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
9. Possess a valid driver’s license and willing to travel to different work sites.
10. Completion of an apprenticeship or certification in sheet metal work or a related field is preferred.
