3–5+ years of experience in procurement, ideally with sheet metal or fabricated components.
Strong understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes, materials, and cost drivers.
Proven negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills.
Excellent analytical abilities and strategic mindset.
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and standard procurement tools.
Strong communication skills and cross-functional collaboration experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What You’ll Do

As our Sheet Metal Commodity Buyer, you’ll be responsible for coordinating all aspects of purchased commodities to support production needs. Your key responsibilities will include:

Researching, evaluating, analyzing, and negotiating purchased commodities, including pricing, lead times, specifications, and quality
Managing multiple suppliers, parts, quantities, and lead times to meet production demand while maintaining open purchase orders
Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships to ensure consistent performance and continuous improvement
Effectively managing, analyzing, and negotiating price, on-time delivery, and quality with suppliers
Evaluating vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable options for the organization
Periodically auditing suppliers for quality, on-time delivery, and other supplier performance metrics
Communicating and reporting changes to contracts, supplier performance, issues, and risks to various audiences as required
