Job Title: ServiceNow Platform Architect
Location: San Antonio, TX (Onsite) - Full-Time Role
Summary:
We are looking for an experienced ServiceNow Platform Architect to lead enterprise-level architecture, governance, and strategic adoption of the ServiceNow platform. This role requires a strong balance of hands-on technical expertise and advisory capabilities, working closely with executive stakeholders, platform owners, and delivery teams.
The architect will focus on long-term platform health, scalability, security, and modernization while reducing technical debt and driving adoption of new ServiceNow capabilities, including AI, GenAI, and automation features.
Required / Mandatory Skills:
- 8+ years of experience within the ServiceNow ecosystem
- 4+ years of experience specializing in ServiceNow architecture, design, and implementation
- Experience delivering at least two ServiceNow implementations, including one large enterprise engagement
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture and core components
- Hands-on expertise in:
- JavaScript (client-side and server-side)
- Glide APIs
- Script Includes
- Business Rules
- Flow Designer
- Service Portal
- Deep knowledge of:
- CMDB and CSDM
- Instance strategy and platform governance
- Security model and access controls
- Integrations using REST, SOAP, and IntegrationHub
- Experience across multiple ServiceNow modules such as:
- ITSM, ITOM
- CMDB / CSDM
- IRM / GRC
- HRSD
- SecOps
- SPM
- CSM
- Creator Workflows
- Strong experience integrating ServiceNow with enterprise systems (ERP, HR, Cloud platforms, etc.)
- Experience handling platform upgrades and simplifying or remediating customizations
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to C-level stakeholders
- Ability to work in a consulting and advisory role as a trusted expert guide
Qualification:
- ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or Certified Master Architect (CMA) – Preferred
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in one or more modules
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor on ServiceNow platform architecture, governance, and maturity
- Define and own the end-to-end technical strategy for the ServiceNow platform
- Ensure scalability, performance, security, and long-term sustainability across modules
- Establish and enforce platform governance, coding standards, naming conventions, and guardrails
- Identify and proactively reduce technical debt while promoting out-of-the-box capabilities
- Translate business goals into phased technical roadmaps
- Collaborate with enterprise architects to integrate ServiceNow with core business systems
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers and administrators
- Evaluate and recommend new ServiceNow capabilities, including GenAI and Now Assist
- Lead proof-of-concept and pilot initiatives for new features
- Create and maintain high-level design documents, architectural diagrams, and best-practice guides
- Promote ServiceNow adoption across business units beyond IT
