Job Details
Job Summary
The Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing equipment including forklifts, sweeper/scrubbers, and aerial lift equipment. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform both field and shop service work.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose equipment issues using mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Inspect equipment using company diagnostic procedures to identify malfunctions
- Disassemble, repair, and replace defective parts and components
- Reassemble equipment and perform necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation
- Install, service, and repair equipment at customer sites
- Recommend major repairs or shop overhauls when necessary
- Maintain service truck inventory and communicate restocking needs
- Complete all required service documentation accurately and on time
- Participate in company-sponsored training to stay current with industry advancements
- Maintain company vehicles and operate them safely
- Represent the company professionally in appearance and conduct
- Support emergency breakdown coverage as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability
- Ability to diagnose and repair technical equipment issues
- Basic math, reading, and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules as needed
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience servicing forklifts, sweeper/scrubbers, or similar equipment
- Experience with equipment installation, repair, and maintenance
- Completion of relevant manufacturer or vendor training programs preferred
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical or vocational training preferred
