The Dining Server Assistant assists the Dining Room Servers in overseeing the greeting and seating of members and guests. Help maintain reservations and flow of seating members. Assist servers as needed with beverage items and clearing of tables in a prompt, professional and courteous manner. Provides exceptional dining experience for every member and guest. Must be able to work holidays, evenings and weekends.
Essential Duties:
- Provides immediate attention to all guests upon arrival at the dining room.
- Smile and give warm and sincere greeting upon arrival. Smile and give sincere thank you or goodbye upon members/guests leaving.
- Uses the member names
- Answer the phone and take reservations when calls are transferred to Dining.
- Assist with water and tea service, refills and beverage service from the bar.
- Describe specials of the day to the guests. Answers questions regarding any menu item and offer suggestions of menu items when appropriate.
- Bus and pre-bus tables as needed. Reset tables for next seating.
- Participates in pre-shift meetings and taste tests.
- Maintain organized workstation.
- Occasionally assists with checking in members for club functions.
- Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates/Licenses: Food Handler Certification and Alcohol Awareness Training.

- Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
