What You-ll Do
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Web Application Developer specializing in Next.js and Vercel to develop, optimize, and maintain cutting-edge eCommerce web applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in modern web development, shift-left testing practices, and performance optimization, with the ability to lead technical initiatives and collaborate effectively with offshore development teams to deliver exceptional, scalable, and user-centric eCommerce experiences.
Minimum education qualification
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or related field.
The ideal candidate will have:
+ - Development: Build and maintain robust, scalable web applications using Next.js and Vercel, leveraging server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), and incremental static regeneration (ISR) to ensure high performance and SEO optimization.- Technical Leadership: Guide and mentor offshore developers, ensuring high-quality code delivery, adherence to best practices, and alignment with project goals.- Shift-Left Testing: Implement shift-left testing by integrating automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests early in the development process using tools like Jest, React Testing Library, and Cypress to ensure quality and minimize defects.- Performance Optimization: Optimize web applications for speed and scalability, utilizing Vercel-s analytics, edge caching, and Next.js features (e.g., image optimization, code splitting) to achieve fast load times and superior user experiences.- eCommerce Implementation: Develop seamless eCommerce experiences, integrating with platforms like Shopify, Stripe, or custom APIs to deliver secure, intuitive, and scalable user journeys.- Collaboration: Work closely with architects, designers, product managers, and offshore teams to translate requirements into technical solutions, ensuring effective communication across time zones.- DevOps Integration: Leverage Vercel-s CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows to streamline development, testing, and deployment processes for rapid and reliable releases.- Code Quality: Adhere to coding standards, participate in code reviews, and use tools like ESLint and Prettier to maintain consistent, high-quality codebases.- Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve technical challenges, contributing to innovative solutions that enhance application performance and user engagement.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in web development, with at least 2 years focused on Next.js and Vercel in production environments.- Technical Expertise: o Strong proficiency in Next.js, including SSR, SSG, ISR, and API routes.o Hands-on experience with Vercel platform features, including edge functions, analytics, and deployments.o Expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).o Proficiency in shift-left testing with tools like Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.o Knowledge of performance optimization techniques, including lazy loading, code splitting, and image optimization.- eCommerce Experience: Demonstrated experience building eCommerce web applications, with familiarity integrating payment gateways, CMS platforms, or headless commerce solutions.- Leadership: Experience mentoring or leading small development teams, with the ability to work effectively with offshore or distributed teams.- DevOps: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and Vercel deployment processes.- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across time zones and cultures.- Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to resolving technical challenges
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with headless CMS platforms (e.g., Contentful, Sanity) and GraphQL for eCommerce applications.- Familiarity with Tailwind CSS or other modern CSS frameworks for efficient UI development.- Knowledge of Web Vitals and tools like Lighthouse for performance auditing.- Experience with A/B testing or analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics) to support data-driven optimizations.- Certification in Next.js or Vercel platforms
