Role Summary:
The Senior Technical Business Systems Analyst – LMS Transition supports the successful delivery of largescale Learning Management System (LMS) migrations by serving as a technical and collaboration anchor across multiple workstreams. This role specializes in technical and integration design, working closely with crossfunctional partners to define, document, and validate design decisions that enable effective implementation.
The role partners with HRIS, IT, Security, Learning, Compliance, and external vendors to ensure technical designs are clearly documented, aligned across teams, and executable within enterprise and compliance constraints. In addition, the role provides program support and coordination to help keep technical activities aligned with overall project milestones.
This position is wellsuited for a senior analyst with handson LMS migration experience who excels at crossfunctional collaboration and structured documentation in complex environments.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Integration Design Support
- Contribute to and maintain technical design specifications for LMStoLMS migrations, including:
- User and worker data models
- Organizational units, hierarchies, and learning assignment logic
- Content, curriculum, and transcript migration approaches
- Integrations with HRIS, Identity & Access Management (SSO), and downstream systems
- Security roles, permissions, and access controls
- Reporting, reconciliation, and data validation methods
- Translate functional and business requirements into clear, implementable technical documentation.
- Assist in evaluating technical approaches and documenting constraints, dependencies, and implications.
- Partner closely with HRIS, IT, Security, Learning, Compliance, and Vendors to:
- Participate in and facilitate technical and design working sessions
- Capture and document design inputs, assumptions, and decisions
- Support resolution of crosssystem and crossteam dependencies
- Act as a coordination point to help ensure technical designs remain consistent across workstreams.
- Document outcomes from design sessions, including:
- Design decision records
- Assumptions, risks, and dependencies
- Open items and followup actions
- Ensure technical documentation supports auditability, validation, and compliance expectations.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, design decisions, and implemented solutions.
- Support technical workstream execution by assisting with:
- Action item and dependency tracking
- RAID contributions
- Status inputs and workinglevel updates
- Coordinate closely with program and project team members to ensure design readiness aligns with build, migration, and testing activities.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or Technical Analyst in enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated experience supporting LMS implementations or LMStoLMS migrations.
- Experience with enterprise LMS platforms (e.g., Cornerstone, Saba, SuccessFactors, Workday Learning).
- Strong understanding of:
- User provisioning and lifecycle events
- Organizational hierarchies and learning assignment logic
- Learning content standards (SCORM, AICC, xAPI)
- Historical data and transcript migration
- Experience documenting integrations involving:
- HRIS systems (e.g., Workday)
- Identity and access management / SSO
- APIs, flatfile feeds, SFTP, and ETL processes
- Ability to define data mappings, transformation logic, and validation criteria.
- Experience working in regulated or compliancesensitive environments.
- Strong documentation discipline to support audit readiness, validation, and formal signoff.

- Exposure to testing support, UAT coordination, or data reconciliation activities.
- Experience supporting global or multiregion implementations.
