As part of its continued growth and focus on strong financial governance, the company is expanding its technical accounting function and seeking a Senior Technical Accountant (Derivatives).

Job Details

Derivatives & Hedge Accounting

Lead accounting and analysis for derivative instruments and hedging activities in accordance with ASC 815
Support hedge documentation, effectiveness testing, valuation review, and ongoing compliance
Analyze complex trading and risk management transactions and determine appropriate accounting treatment

Monthly Close & Financial Reporting

Lead or support monthly and quarterly close activities related to derivatives and other commercial accounting areas
Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
Draft assigned sections of Form 10‑K, Form 10‑Q, and other internal and external reporting deliverables

Technical Accounting & Advisory

Research new accounting guidance and evaluate impacts to existing derivatives and hedging strategies
Prepare technical accounting memoranda and clearly document conclusions
Partner with cross‑functional teams to implement accounting conclusions

Audit & Controls

Serve as a key point of contact for internal audit and external auditors on derivatives‑related matters
Support SOX controls, documentation, and testing activities


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
CPA or CPA‑eligible strongly preferred
3–7+ years of accounting experience in public accounting and/or a public‑company environment
Hands‑on experience with derivatives and hedge accounting (ASC 815) required
Energy, commodities, trading, or asset‑intensive industry experience strongly preferred
Experience with large ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) and trading/accounting platforms is a plus
