Senior Tax Accountant / Lead Tax Accountant
Location: Bloomington, MN | Primarily Onsite (occasional WFH flexibility)
Compensation: $90,000–$120,000

Position Summary

We’re seeking a tax professional to own and support the full scope of corporate tax compliance for a multi-entity, multi-state organization. This role, created due to internal promotion, serves as the company’s primary internal tax resource and a trusted partner to accounting leadership.

Reporting to the Controller, you will lead income tax compliance and gradually expand into sales and use tax and personal property tax responsibilities, with training and development provided along the way. This position is ideal for someone with a strong public accounting or corporate income tax foundation who is ready to step into an in-house role offering broad ownership, visibility, and the opportunity to grow their overall tax expertise.

Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare, coordinate, and file federal, state, and local income tax returns, including pass-through entities
• Support multi-state sales and use tax filings and remittances, with training provided
• Assist with personal property tax compliance and assessments
• Maintain book-to-tax reconciliations and Schedule M adjustments
• Support fixed asset and depreciation-related tax reporting
• Serve as a go-to internal resource for tax questions and guidance
• Partner with external advisors on audits and tax matters
• Assist with estimated payments, forecasting, and tax planning initiatives
• Maintain tax systems/ERP tools and drive process improvements
• Ensure organized retention of returns, workpapers, and documentation
• Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Approximately 5+ years of progressive tax experience
• Public accounting and/or in-house tax experience preferred
• Strong income tax compliance experience required; exposure to sales/use or property tax is helpful but not required
• CPA or CPA-track preferred
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with tax compliance systems
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across teams
• Interest in learning and expanding into broader tax areas over time
