Responsibilities:
As a Senior Staff Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
2. Conducting audits, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and providing recommendations for improving financial performance and efficiency.
3. Assisting in the preparation and execution of the annual budget, and providing regular financial forecasts.
4. Managing and reconciling general ledger accounts, and preparing journal entries.
5. Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax requirements by studying regulations and adhering to compliance guidelines.
6. Collaborating with other finance team members and departments to streamline processes, improve financial reporting, and achieve company objectives.
7. Participating in special projects and initiatives as needed, providing financial expertise and insights.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, with a strong focus on financial reporting and auditing.
3. Proven expertise in accounting principles and financial analysis, with a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in your work.
5. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide recommendations.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial colleagues.
7. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
8. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
9. A commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of accounting and finance.
