Senior Software Engineer - Mainframe

Hybrid Position - 4 days a week onsite

Introduction

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer for the Vehicle Invoicing and Drafting Application. This mission-critical Mainframe Legacy application requires a professional with 10 years of solid technology experience and demonstrated technical leadership capability. The application is approximately 60 years old with both Online and Batch Programs. The ideal candidate must be proficient at quickly tracing through complex COBOL Code using advanced Debug Tools, determining the Root Cause, and developing/implementing viable mitigation strategies. This role demands quick decision-making, multitasking, and stress management while delivering assigned tasks efficiently.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10 years in IT and COBOL development
• Proficiency in CA-7, API, Acceptance Testing, Access Controls, Agile Software Development
• Experience with Mainframe Systems, COBOL, JCL, DB2, Endeavor, Advanced File Handling, Online/Batch Processing
• Strong analytical skills and ability to navigate complex technical situations
• Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry
• Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Agile Methodology and Jira
• Exposure to advanced technologies such as SAP, JAVA
• Ability to bridge Legacy Mainframe Systems with new technology like SAP/S4

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Assist with Enhancement/New Development Projects and Operations Support
• Maintain accurate systems documentation and adhere to coding standards
• Engage in technical discussions within the Application Team and with other interfacing Applications
