Senior ServiceNow Developer

Blue Rose Consulting Group is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Application Developer (P4 – Expert) to support a federal client’s mission-critical ServiceNow platform. This role requires deep technical expertise and ownership of enterprise-scale development, integration, and portal architecture efforts.

The selected candidate will lead advanced ServiceNow design and development initiatives, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing platform solutions. This position operates within a structured Agile environment and requires the ability to manage complex technical workstreams independently while collaborating across cross-functional teams.

This is a true senior-level role requiring 10+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and implement complex solutions across the ServiceNow platform

  • Lead development of advanced custom Service Portals, including AngularJS-based widgets and dynamic data configurations

  • Design and optimize Service Catalog architecture, including complex request forms and automated fulfillment workflows

  • Develop and maintain secure integrations with external enterprise systems using REST and SOAP APIs

  • Configure and enforce advanced security controls, including Access Control Lists (ACLs), roles, and data policies

  • Perform advanced scripting using JavaScript and Glide APIs

  • Lead full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) efforts from requirements through deployment and production support

  • Assess and refactor legacy configurations to improve scalability, performance, and maintainability

  • Troubleshoot complex system issues and provide root cause analysis

  • Maintain technical documentation, development standards, and governance controls

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers as needed

Schedule

  • Full-time (40 hours per week)

  • Support required during standard East Coast business hours

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Clearance: Active Secret required

  • 10+ years of progressive, hands-on ServiceNow development experience (P4 – Expert level)

  • Demonstrated expertise across:

    • ServiceNow Platform architecture and configuration

    • Application development and advanced scripting (JavaScript, Glide APIs)

    • ServiceNow Portal Development (AngularJS, client/server scripting)

    • Service Catalog design and workflow automation

    • Integration development (REST/SOAP APIs, external system connectivity)

    • Platform security implementation, including ACL configuration

  • Proven experience operating within Agile or SAFe Agile environments

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)

  • Experience with ITSM, ITOM, IRM, Vulnerability Response, or Security Incident Response modules

  • Experience modernizing or optimizing legacy ServiceNow environments

  • Familiarity with Now Assist or AI-driven ServiceNow capabilities
