A privately held, mid-sized real estate investment and development firm is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join its growing finance team. The company manages a diverse portfolio of commercial, residential, and mixed-use properties across the greater Philadelphia region. Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the company’s continued expansion. This position requires a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across multiple business entities and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports for multiple entities.

  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and support both internal and external reporting needs.

  • Partner with property management and development teams to ensure proper accounting for projects, capital expenditures, and operating activities.

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Monitor intercompany transactions, cash flow activity, and capital distributions.

  • Prepare schedules and documentation to support annual audits and tax filings.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and strengthen internal controls.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within real estate, construction, or property management.

  • Solid understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.

  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with Yardi, MRI, or similar real estate accounting software preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.

  • Clear communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
