A privately held, mid-sized real estate investment and development firm is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join its growing finance team. The company manages a diverse portfolio of commercial, residential, and mixed-use properties across the greater Philadelphia region. Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the companys continued expansion. This position requires a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across multiple business entities and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports for multiple entities.
Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Prepare consolidated financial statements and support both internal and external reporting needs.
Partner with property management and development teams to ensure proper accounting for projects, capital expenditures, and operating activities.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Monitor intercompany transactions, cash flow activity, and capital distributions.
Prepare schedules and documentation to support annual audits and tax filings.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and strengthen internal controls.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within real estate, construction, or property management.
Solid understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
Proficiency in Excel; experience with Yardi, MRI, or similar real estate accounting software preferred.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.
Clear communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
