Kforce has a contract role for a Sr. Quality Engineer specializing in both functional and automation to support a Power Platform implementation as part of a .NET team. This position is primarily remote, but candidates must reside in Texas. Summary: As a Senior Quality Engineer (Automation & Functional), you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and stability of complex software systems by combining strong test automation expertise with functional testing requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define testing plans, execute functional testing and build automation scripts using Playwright automation framework, and drive quality improvements across multiple applications. Key Responsibilities:
  • Define test strategies, test plans, and risk assessments for complex system or program changes
  • Write and execute functional and automation test cases, including preparation of required test data
  • Design, build, review, and deploy test automation solutions for complex and interrelated systems
  • Perform test execution, validation, and defect analysis to identify issues and work with development teams for resolution
  • Lead troubleshooting and triage of complex system issues, identify root causes, and recommend process improvements
  • Collaborate with product management, project management, development teams, and business stakeholders to define testing objectives
  • Track and report defect metrics, automation coverage, and testing progress
  • Ensure quality assurance practices align with software development lifecycle and Frost standards

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with functional, API, regression, and automation testing
  • Strong knowledge of test planning, execution, requirements traceability, and defect management
  • Ability to identify technical issues, misconfigurations, and defects independently
  • Experience collaborating across multiple development teams
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Microsoft Power platform technologies
  • Experience with Playwright automation testing
  • Experience in the financial/banking industry
  • Exposure to project coordination or project management

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
