The Role
We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Property Accountant for the Austin corporate office. In this role, you will act as the financial lead for a portfolio of premium student housing and traditional multifamily assets. This position is designed for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses the analytical "owner’s mindset" needed to drive asset performance and operational efficiency.
Your Impact
- Full-Cycle Financial Management: Lead the general ledger functions for your assigned portfolio, ensuring all monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes are executed with precision.
- Strategic Partnership: Work closely with Regional Managers and site leadership to review budget variances, monitor cash flow, and resolve complex financial issues.
- Operational Oversight: Handle all essential treasury functions, including bank reconciliations, capital funding requests, and loan draw administration.
- Audit & Reporting: Manage the preparation of year-end audit packages and oversee annual CAM reconciliations to maintain high levels of transparency for stakeholders.
What You Bring
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CPA-candidate preferred).
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in property accounting, specifically within the multifamily or student housing sectors.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Yardi is required; advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas) are essential.
- Professionalism: Strong communication skills and a service-first attitude when collaborating with internal departments.
