Senior Property Accountant

- Manage day-to-day accounting activities for assigned entities or business units
- Review financial agreements and organizational documents to ensure accurate accounting and reporting
- Monitor accounts receivable and payable, cash balances, and cash flow activity
- Review and approve accounts payable transactions in a timely manner
- Partner with operational and finance teams to resolve receivable, payable, and ledger issues
- Analyze revenue and expense activity, including reconciliations and variance analysis
- Support capital expenditure tracking and reserve or funding requirements, as applicable
- Manage accounting for holding entities, including cash transfers, contributions, distributions, and equity reconciliations
- Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of supporting schedules
- Prepare and review internal and external financial reports (e.g., management, lender, or investor reporting)
- Support quarterly and year-end close processes, including audit preparation and financial statement support
- Apply GAAP in resolving accounting issues and documenting conclusions
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and collaborate on implementation
- Assist with training and review of work performed by junior staff
- Complete ad hoc projects and analyses as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and standard accounting systems; CRM or ERP experience is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative work ethic
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
