Senior PowerPlan Business Systems Analyst
Location: Southeast U.S. (Onsite)
Compensation: ~$100K – $135K + benefits
Type: Full-Time / Direct Hire
Overview
Large power generation organization is seeking a Senior PowerPlan Business Systems Analyst to own and optimize its on-prem PowerPlan environment. This role sits at the intersection of accounting, capital projects, and IT, ensuring accurate fixed asset lifecycle management, strong controls, and reliable reporting.
Key Responsibilities
System Ownership & Administration
- Serve as primary business owner for PowerPlan (on-prem)
- Manage configuration, system integrity, security coordination, and maintenance
- Stay current on system updates and accounting requirements
Fixed Asset & Capital Project Support
- Support full asset lifecycle: CWIP, capitalization, depreciation, retirements, ARO, loan tagging
- Ensure compliance and accuracy across fixed asset accounting processes
- Partner with Accounting, Treasury, Planning, and Operations
System Enhancements & Integrations
- Lead requirements gathering, testing, and deployment for upgrades and enhancements
- Support integrations with ERP, asset management, and reporting tools
- Coordinate UAT, regression testing, and approval workflows
Reporting & Close Support
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Troubleshoot issues and validate reporting outputs for financial and regulatory needs
Training & Documentation
- Develop documentation, workflows, and training materials
- Support end users across finance and operations
Qualifications
Experience
- 5+ years supporting financial systems or asset management platforms
- Experience in fixed assets or project-based accounting environments
- PowerPlan experience preferred
Technical Exposure (Preferred)
- ERP / asset management systems (e.g., Maximo, Infor, similar)
- Reporting tools and financial systems integrations
Core Skills
- Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting (CWIP, depreciation, ARO)
- Analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting ability
- Ability to translate business requirements into system solutions
- Strong communication across accounting, operations, and IT
