Senior Payroll Coordinator

A leading company in the electric and energy infrastructure industry is seeking a Senior Payroll Coordinator to support accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead weekly in-house payroll processing and final review of payroll runs and union allocations.
• Maintain and audit employee master data, deductions, and employment changes.
• Manage retirement contributions, 401(k) updates, and third‑party file transmissions.
• Handle complex inquiries, including garnishments, employment verifications, and multi‑state tax issues.
• Prepare and finalize quarterly/annual payroll tax filings and W‑2s.
• Conduct periodic audits to ensure payroll accuracy and data integrity.
• Support employees and managers with payroll questions and discrepancies.
• Recommend improvements to payroll processes and systems.
• Provide guidance to junior payroll team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• 6+ years of hands-on payroll experience, including union or construction payroll preferred.
• Strong payroll tax knowledge and analytical skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in Excel and payroll/ERP systems (e.g., CMiC, eCMS).
