As a Permanent Senior Payroll & Benefits Specialist, you will become an integral part of our dynamic team within the manufacturing industry. This role offers the opportunity to utilize and expand your payroll and benefits expertise in a challenging and rewarding environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll and benefits administration for our salaried employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. This role will also require you to play a crucial part in the process improvement initiatives within the Payroll department.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle payroll processing for salaried employees, including data entry, verification, and payroll delivery.
  • Handle special payroll circumstances such as bonus payments, payroll garnishments, and union payroll.
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end payroll reconciliation and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including FMLA, ERISA, and multi-state payroll requirements.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, coordinating with insurance providers and handling employee inquiries.
  • Manage the accurate and timely distribution of W2 forms.
  • Use Excel and Paycor software to manage payroll data and generate necessary reports.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to streamline and improve payroll and benefits processes.
  • Participate in audits and assist in the development of procedures and policies related to payroll and benefits.
  • Stay updated on current regulations, industry trends, and best practices in payroll and benefits administration.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll systems, specifically Paycor, and advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Familiarity with multi-state payroll regulations, FMLA, ERISA, and union payroll.
  • Strong understanding of payroll and benefits accounting and tax regulations.
  • Proven experience with process improvement in a payroll context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
