Description
This role supports the design, operation, and optimization of secure enterprise networks that underpin satellite and ground-based data systems. The position combines deep hands-on networking expertise with Linux system administration and limited automation to ensure resilient, high-performance mission environments.
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain secure Layer 2 / Layer 3 enterprise networks supporting satellite and ground system data flows
Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco networking infrastructure, including routing, switching, and firewall platforms
Administer Linux-based systems (RHEL) supporting network services and operational tooling
Implement and manage firewall solutions, enforcing security controls within classified environments
Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and perform root-cause analysis to maintain system reliability
Support virtualized environments leveraging VMware technologies
Develop and maintain basic automation or operational scripts, with a preference for Python, to improve efficiency
Collaborate with security and platform teams to ensure compliance with government and program security requirements
Requirements
Strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking, including L2/L3 routing and switching
Demonstrated expertise with Cisco platforms, including Nexus, ASA, and core routing/switching technologies
Solid Linux system administration experience, specifically with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
Experience supporting VMware-based environments
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and optimize performance in production systems
Experience implementing and maintaining firewall solutions in secure or classified environments
Scripting or automation experience, preferably using Python
Security & Certifications
Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly, required on day one
Ability to obtain Security+ certification within 90 days of hire
