Senior Motion Designer, Search and Maps Marketing

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 9 years of experience working in a creative discipline (e.g., writing, filmmaking, video editing, design, art direction, photography, etc.).
- A portfolio of creative work displaying experience in Brand, Interactive, Conceptual, Experiential, or Technology design.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in 3D software (e.g., Cinema 4D, Blender) or UI motion and prototype design.
- Experience leading design projects across multiple mediums, including digital film, video, and physical event activation.
- Experience creating motion-first visual identities for global campaigns or events.
- Experience in industry-standard tools like Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and address technical problems through engaging animated storytelling.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback to a team of motion designers and animators.

As a Creative in Marketing, you bring visual, design, written and experiential acumen to Google products and services, presented across all major media, content, channels, and experiences. You have the ability to perform your role in a flexible, ever-changing environment and must be open to new influences and inspiration. You will work with a deeply cross-functional team and inspire a team of vendor partners by sharing ideas and developing effective solutions to generate multiple concepts supporting all forms of major media. You will be equally comfortable making; rolling up your sleeves and designing, mocking, writing, or prototyping; showing, not telling. The Google Search Marketing team serves as the guardian for the Search brand, ensuring global resonance through storytelling across social, broadcast, and physical activations. This group grows on solving ambiguity and driving excellence across an ecosystem of channels with internal product partners to define how the world experiences Search.As Senior Motion Designer, you will lead the brand's motion language, ensuring clear and iconic animated visual storytelling across all channels. This role combines motion, graphic, and product design. You will partner with internal teams while directing external studios, filmmakers, and animators. We are looking for a collaborative team player who excels at navigating ambiguity and driving creative excellence.

- Serve as the guardian for the Google Search brand's motion language, driving consistency and excellence across all media touch points.
- Lead the motion design strategy and execution for major product launches and campaigns, ensuring engaging visual storytelling through movement.
- Collaborate with and direct external partners, including design studios, animators, and filmmakers, to deliver premium motion and video assets.
- Develop foundational motion design systems, including visual identities, campaign look-and-feels, guidelines, and templates for consistent execution.
- Mentor the motion designers and collaborate with cross-functional partners to translate complex product features into simple, iconic animated visuals.
