Responsibilities: Perform calibration, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on laboratory and production instrumentation. Maintain and service analytical equipment including balances, pH meters, dissolution units, thermometers, hardness testers, sieves, HPLC, UPLC, ICP-MS, LC-MS, and LC-MS/MS systems. Ensure all calibration standards are NIST-traceable and compliant with FDA, USP, NSF, and ISO requirements. Troubleshoot complex instrument failures and coordinate with OEMs/vendors for advanced repairs. Author and execute equipment qualification protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) for new and existing instruments. Develop and maintain metrology SOPs, calibration protocols, and maintenance procedures aligned with cGMP and ISO/IEC 17025 standards. Maintain complete, audit-ready documentation in compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 111 and related regulations. Investigate calibration failures and instrument deviations; perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement CAPAs. Evaluate calibration intervals and equipment reliability to optimize metrology strategy. Manage spare parts inventory and critical components to minimize downtime. Support regulatory audits by providing documentation and technical metrology expertise. Collaborate with QA, QC, R&D, IT, and Manufacturing teams to ensure instrument availability. Provide training and mentorship to junior staff and laboratory users on proper instrument handling and documentation practices. Drive continuous improvement initiatives including automation, predictive maintenance, and data-driven decision-making. Manage equipment lifecycle planning including procurement support, obsolescence planning, and reliability tracking. Perform occasional off-shift or weekend support during critical calibrations or equipment failures. Other duties as assigned. Required Experience: Bachelor's degree in Metrology, Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, or related scientific discipline. Minimum five (5) years of hands-on metrology or calibration experience in a GMP-regulated dietary supplement, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology environment. Proven experience performing repairs and maintenance on HPLC, UPLC, ICP-MS, LC-MS, and LC-MS/MS systems. Strong working knowledge of FDA 21 CFR Part 111, cGMP, USP, NSF/ANSI, and ISO/IEC 17025 standards. Experience with calibration or asset management software such as Blue Mountain, CMMS, or equivalent. Experience in a QC laboratory environment preferred. Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail in documentation and inventory control. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Ability to work in a manufacturing and laboratory environment and lift calibration weights as needed. Benefits: Dental insurance.
