Mechanical Design Engineer – Deep Drawn Metal Stamping

About the Role

Join an innovative manufacturing organization seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in deep drawn metal stamping. This is an opportunity to work on high-precision metal forming projects in a collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment focused on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize tooling, fixtures, and components for deep drawn and stamped metal parts.

  • Develop detailed 2D/3D CAD models and engineering drawings (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).

  • Perform feasibility studies, simulations (FEA preferred), and tolerance analysis to ensure manufacturability.

  • Collaborate with production, quality, R&D, and supply chain teams to solve complex manufacturing challenges.

  • Lead prototyping efforts, analyze test results, and refine designs for high-volume production.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.

  • Support Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Maintain clear documentation and manage projects from concept through production.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in deep drawn metal stamping (high-volume manufacturing preferred).

  • Advanced CAD proficiency; experience with FEA and simulation tools strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of metallurgy, metal forming, and machining processes.

  • Proven problem-solving skills and project management experience.

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work on technically challenging, precision-engineered products.

  • Collaborative engineering culture focused on innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Competitive compensation and professional growth opportunities.

  • Primarily office-based role with occasional travel to production facilities or client sites.
