Job Details
As a Senior Marketing Accountant, you will be the financial lead for our downstream marketing activities. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of crude oil marketing transactions, from the moment product leaves the wellhead until final settlement with our counterparties.
Key Responsibilities
Netback & Valuation: Prepare and review monthly netback calculations for crude oil sales, accurately accounting for transportation tariffs, gathering fees, and contractual deducts.
Crude Settlements: Coordinate the full settlement cycle, including volumetric reconciliation between pipeline statements and internal marketing data.
Dispute Resolution: Liaise with marketing traders, field operations, and external counterparties to resolve pricing or volume discrepancies.
Financial Close: Execute month-end close activities, including journal entries, complex account reconciliations, and revenue accruals for marketing volumes.
Analysis: Provide management with variance analysis and ad-hoc financial reporting on marketing performance and midstream costs.
Qualifications
Industry Experience: Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience strictly within the Oil & Gas sector (E&P or Midstream).
Technical Knowledge: Proven expertise in Netbacks and Crude Oil Settlements.
Systems: Proficiency in ETRM systems (e.g., RightAngle, Allegro) or O&G ERPs (e.g., SAP, Enertia, Quorum) is highly preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
