Job Title: Senior Manager of Enterprise Architecture

Location: Lisle, IL - HYBRID

Compensation: $175,000 - $220,000 / Annually

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).


What You Will Do

As the Senior Manager of Architecture & Engineering Standards, you will serve as the organization’s most senior technical authority across application, platform, and integration architecture. You will set the technical direction for modernization, define engineering standards, and partner closely with engineering, product, infrastructure, quality, and security teams.

This is a highly hands-on leadership role. You will actively engage in services, logs, APIs, data flows, code paths, and system interactions to troubleshoot, understand, and strengthen platforms across both legacy and modern environments.

You will also oversee enterprise architecture functions and lead the architectural evolution as the organization scales and modernizes its technology

landscape.


Anyone with high-volume transactional platforms supporting account-based systems, real-time processing, and complex business rules OR distributed

platforms handling real-time transactions, entitlements, and customer facing services.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Lead the architecture discipline as the senior technical authority across systems, applications, integrations, and infrastructure patterns
  • Establish, maintain, and govern architecture and engineering standards to ensure consistent design and delivery practices
  • Actively dive into technical details to troubleshoot distributed systems, trace data flows, analyze application behavior, and resolve complex platform challenges
  • Quickly develop a deep understanding of legacy processing flows, cloud-native services, microservices, data models, and integration points
  • Partner with engineering teams to design and validate scalable, resilient
  • architectures using modern cloud services
  • Drive modernization initiatives, including migration of legacy applications to cloud-native architectures and improved service boundaries
  • Define API and integration standards across services, authentication models, and system interactions
  • Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines, observability, performance optimization, and cost efficiency
  • Work closely with security, compliance, and QA teams to ensure resiliency, quality, and end-to-end testing alignment
  • Mentor enterprise architecture resources and guide architectural reviews and technical roadmaps
  • Partner with product and engineering leadership to identify practical AI and machine learning opportunities that enhance platforms and operations
  • Ensure AI-driven solutions align with architectural standards and data models
  • Support executive leadership in evaluating technologies and shaping technical roadmap direction
  • Serve as a senior technical problem solver for complex production and platform scenarios


Core Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in architecture, platform engineering, or senior technical leadership
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with modern cloud platforms and services (AWS Heavy)
  • Proven experience designing microservices architectures, distributed systems, and high-volume transactional platforms
  • Strong engineering background with hands-on proficiency in languages such as Java, Python, or similar technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot across code, infrastructure, logs, and data layers
  • Expertise in API design and integration patterns across distributed systems
  • Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL data systems and storage models
  • Experience leading modernization initiatives from legacy platforms to cloud-native environments
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps automation, and infrastructure-as-code tools
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate architectural decisions to technical and executive audiences
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical execution


Additional (Bonus) Skills:

  • Experience leading architecture governance or engineering standards across multiple teams
  • Exposure to event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, and messaging frameworks
  • Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into production platforms
  • Familiarity with cloud-native AI/ML services
  • Exposure to legacy systems and modernization strategies
  • Understanding of security best practices and compliance frameworks
  • Experience with large-scale data pipelines and real-time analytics
  • Strong mentoring and technical leadership abilities
